Álvaro Leite Siza
Born in Porto, 1962.
Álvaro Leite Siza Vieira was born on July 28, 1962, in Porto, Portugal. He interned in the studio of Architect Eduardo Souto de Moura in 1992 and graduated in Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto in 1994.
His first work was the Casa Vanzeller, in Afife, Portugal in 1992, and since then he has developed a wide range of other architecture projects, among which the following stand out: Discoteca Estado Novo, in Matosinhos 1995; The Ballroom at Quinta do Eirado, S. Mamede Infesta, 1998; Casa Francisco Ramos Pinto in Francelos and Discoteca Mantra, in Matosinhos, both built in 2000.
During this period he also participated in numerous International Exhibitions of Architecture, Painting, Furniture and Design.
Awards
He was nominated for the England International Wallpaper Awards 2007, with the Casa Tolo project. Also for the Russian International Architectural Awards (ARCHIP), with the same work, which won in the category “Private Houses Innovation”. He has been a Jury member of this International award since then.
He has been invited to numerous publications, television documentaries and international conferences.
